Do you have family possessions that were connected to 1916?
Do you have letters, diaries, postcards, photographs or other memorabilia from that defining period of Irish history? If you do, we want to know more.
As part of the Road to the Rising day of activities, a team led by the National Library of Ireland will be on hand at a special event in the GPO to register your items of interest from 1916.
Speak to our genealogists and find out more about your 1916 treasures and how they can be made more widely available through the digitisation and oral history projects planned by the National Library of Ireland and An Post/the GPO over the next 12 months.
Share your treasures of 1916 with us at the GPO and even receive a special souvenir of the day!

What can/can't I bring to the event?
We're looking for memorabilia connected with 1916 like photos and documents. If you have weapons or other large items please do not bring them to this event without discussing it with the National Library of Ireland in advance.
